2poundsTurnipspeeled and cut into 1-inch pieces

Instructions
Place the turnip pieces into a large pot and cover it with 2 inches of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and simmer until the turnips are tender, about 20-25 minutes.
Drain the turnips and return them to the pot. Use a potato masher or electric hand mixer until they are smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
Notes
You can add milk, cream, or butter to make it creamy, similar to mashed potatoes. If adding milk or cream, add about ½ cup of milk and 2-3 Tablespoons of butter.
You can also add fresh herbs, like chives or parsley, for additional flavor or garnish.
