Cut apples in half from stem to bottom and use a paring knife, spoon, or melon scoop to remove the core, stem, and part of the inside to create a hollow opening. Set aside.
Combine butter, old fashioned oats, brown sugar, walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl and stir to combine.
Add mixture evenly into each apple half.
Air fry on 350 degrees Fahrenheit 20-25 minutes, until the apples are softened and the oats mixture is toasty.
Serve apples warm and top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy :)

Notes
I use Honey crisp apples for this recipe but other kinds will work as well, such as Granny Smiths or Fuji.
Make sure to cut the apples in half from stem to bottom so they fit in the air fryer and are far enough away from the heating element. Apples too close to the heating apple may become too crisp on the top.
Don't cut and hollow out the apples too far ahead of time or they will start to brown.
Use a fork to check that the apples are tender before serving.
