Whipped cream is one of those kitchen staples I just can’t be without. I love having a dab of whipped cream with fresh strawberries, on top of freshly baked cobbler, or even just to grab a spoonful. However, rumor is that a lot of the ready made whipped creams just aren’t good for you.

I ditched those a few years ago when I realized how easy it was to make whipped cream from scratch. All you need to make whipped cream from scratch are the following:

  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Vanilla extract

Originally, I only made whipped cream with a hand mixer. However, I now use my blender since it sits in the countertop and it’s even faster than using the hand mixer.

How to make Whipped Cream in a Blender:

First, grab your blender and add your heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract.

Cover and blend on low for about 15 seconds. Stop and open cover. Your cream should have thickened a little, but still be somewhat watery.

Use a rubber spatula to move cream mixture towards middle of blades.  Then cover and pulse the mixture a few times until desired texture. It usually takes me about 4 pulses.

And there you have it, whipped cream made in your blender. So quick, easy and yummy!

Notes on Blender Whipped Cream

  • When it comes to whipped cream, cold ingredients are best and will be easier to whip.
  • This whipped cream can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for a few days. Just make sure to whisk with a whisk when ready to serve again after chilling.
  • Have fun with the flavors. Here’s some ideas for whipped cream flavors.

Great ideal as I don’t have powdered sugar either. Seems to be different grades of vanilla. What’s best? Nick

Thanks for the recipe! I’ve made whipped cream with my Kitchen Aid stand mixer before, but this time tried an immersion blender and it was so much quicker and easier to clean up. And your recipe was spot on!
