This sauce requires a few ingredients, and you likely have everything in your kitchen already. It’s great when served on burgers, with fries, or even salad bowls.

What is Big Mac Sauce?
Big Mac Sauce is the creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet spread that makes the Big Mac so iconic. It’s a blend of mayo, pickle relish, mustard, and spices, though McDonald’s keeps the exact recipe under wraps. I researched and tested various recipes on the net to develop this close replica.
Tanya’s Top Tips
- Make It Sweeter or Tangier – Adjust the amount of sweet pickle relish or white vinegar to suit your taste. More relish adds sweetness, while extra vinegar enhances the tangy kick.
- Swap the Mayo – Try using Greek yogurt or light mayonnaise for a lighter version. It won’t be exactly the same, but it still makes a delicious, creamy sauce.
- Add a Little Heat – If you like a bit of spice, stir in a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce.
- Use It on More Than Burgers – Drizzle it over fries, spread it on sandwiches, or even use it as a dip for chicken tenders and veggetables.
Make Ahead and Storage Instructions
- Make Ahead – This sauce can be made in advance and stored in the fridge in an airtight container to enhance the flavors.
- Storage – Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
